Pros and cons of Nutrition Facts app for iPhone and iPad

Nutrition Facts app good for

Very useful app for Calorie checking - in addition it also provides info for fat, carbs, proteins for thousands of popular foods - recommend to all.
I wanted a straight no frills nutrition guide app. I dont need it to track calories, etc (thats just me of course). Interface-wise, this app looked perfect. It appears the developers have fixed the speed issues some of the other reviewers mentioned. It doesnt immediately do a live search (it auto searches after you stop typing after about 2 full seconds). Thats a positive I was worried about. I did notice that a basic search for "pepsi" and "mountain dew" did not find any results, though pepsi-cola is on their supported companies list. Nit sure if it was a faulty search or the list isnt as complete as advertised yet. I do agree that being able to better customize serving size would be nice. If i load up "pizza" you can measure by 100 grams, slice, or whole pie. However, other foods commonly only let you display by 100 grams. I can convert, but having that built in would be much much nicer. Cant comment on accuracy, however realistically all apps will at least partially suffer the same problems. The app gets their 7500 list from the USDA, and then supplements those basics with manufacturer provided lists. Its not like they make the lists manually. Pleased so far but prepared to update my review after further testing.
This is a very user friendly app. For all the people who have criticized it has gotten better. There is now a huge selection to choose from and also it has easy to use features

Some bad moments

Very unorganized, slow, and lacking in local restaurant. Bad ap.
Soooo slow! And everything is measures in 100 grams, what is that?? Save your $, get another app
Well, its only $0.99 badly spent, I should have read the reviews before buying. Will try other apps with nutrition info exactly as it appears on products (serving size) and not in grams which is hard to imagine what it amounts to. Maybe if I write iHealth Ventures perhaps they can update the software to reflect the correct serving size.
i agree, this app needs work and more foods and quantities added but i think it is headed in the right direction with the proper attention
Unlike advertised, many popular products do not show up on this app. Also, when adding your own nutritional info, the serving size options are severely lacking. It could be a great app, but it needs a bunch of work
Might be a free or $.99 app but not at $3 quality level. Horrid process to add foods or delete entries; not enough foods listed; limited options; if you list brand names then expand or is this just companies who pay to be listed? Launched before ready and not iPhone or ipad ready in quality.
